Association Health Plans

Small business, local employees, affordable health insurance.

Support Association Health Plan legislation, tell your legislator to vote YES for HB 2054.

Current laws make health insurance more expensive for small business than large companies. All Kansans deserve the same access to quality, affordable healthcare.  Kansas Legislators have the ability to pass a bill that would allow for Restaurants and hotels with 2-99 employees to enroll in a comprehensive healthcare plan known as the Restaurant & Hospitality Association Benefit Trust (RHA Trust). Sponsored by the National Restaurant Association, and fully-insured by UnitedHealthcare, the RHA Trust will enable small businesses and their employees to achieve scale in order to access quality, affordable health insurance.

There are many versions of Association Health Plans (AHP's) being discussed in Topeka during this legislative session.  There is open support for the goal of allowing small businesses access to AHPs.  We are asking lawmakers to not confuse the KRHA proposed plan with other non-insurance plans that are on the table.

Here is what you need to know about Association Health Plans:
1) Cover Pre-Existing Conditions
2) Fully-Insured
3) Offer more Affordable Rates
4) Regulated By the Kansas Insurance Department
5) ACA Compliant
