Wichita Fire Code Update

Kitchen exhaust cleaning is a major form of fire prevention. As some of you may know, new regulations are taking effect on September 1, 2018, in Wichita by the City of Wichita Fire Department and Fire Prevention Office.  The regulations state that restaurant operators use a hood and exhaust cleaning company, per state and local regulations, that must be licensed and that the city must submit documents to a third party company as proof of service to your kitchen exhaust system.  Proper exhaust cleaning will reduce an operations risk.  If you remove the fuel the fire can't burn.

We encourage you to contact a KRHA Allied partner that provides hood cleaning services if you have specific questions regarding this topic.
